What SEC record do we need to be a Top 8 Seed?

speaking of SR pairings...

there's a pretty good chance that the Ags' SR matchup is a repeat of a regular season series

Georgia (wouldn't that be fun), South Carolina, and Miss State should be hosts between #9 and #16

That's certainly possible. I think UGA and USC will probably be closer to 9 than 16, so if we don't finish strong, they could be in play. State is probably going to be closer to 16. They've got a lot of momentum and have moved up to 18 in the RPI, but they travel to Arkansas this week, before finishing with Missouri.

Im less worried about our seed and more about the less-than-characteristic play that we had in the first two games.

It happens to all good teams, and we rebounded great in game 3. Dont forget about this series, learn from it, and head to the next.

The best way to avoid something like this weekend is to play all home games on the road to Omaha. And that's why seeding is important.

the silver lining for the Ags this weekend...

is the Indiana State (34-10) lottery ticket

the RPI #10 Sycamores from the MVC will host -- in part because they will get credit for only playing 18 home games

ISU was the #14 host last year...probably be #13 or #14 this year

so dropping down to the #3 or #4 overall seed appears advantageous

You know, as the superstitious type, I never like to think too much along the lines of, I hope we get matched up with so and so, but it's pretty hard to see ISU sitting out there and not think about what it would be like for them to make a super regional trip to Olsen.

And didn't TCU, who wasn't a top 16 seed host Indy State in the Supers because of some Special Olympics previous commitment which prevented them from hosting?

yes, the Frogs were gifted a ticket to Omaha in the SR round last year

Gifted? Did they not have to win the Fayetteville Regional hosted by the overall #3 Natty Seed to advance to the Supers?

If we are out in the first round, we should still get a bid of the color World Series. We've been first place for six weeks.

Think he's saying earned their way TO the Supers, but were gifted by essentially getting a home bye FOR the supers.

I think top 4 are getting national seeds, this conference deserves half the national seeds

Unless Arkansas poops the bed the SEC will get 4.

Hoping for 18-12 right now

17-13 leaves it in the hands of the committee and they'll screw us over again

the Ags also have a Georgia problem developing

the Bulldogs can reach 18-12 with a series win over Florida at home

the SEC has gotten 4 national seeds on several occasions, but never 5

Monday

1. Tennessee
2. Kentucky
3. Arkansas
4. TexasA&M
5. Clemson
6. Oregon State
7. Wake Forest
8. North Carolina

Why do I feel we will get screwed and they will put an ACC team in front of us.

The only real difference between four and five is who bats first in Omaha. Theoretically four gets an easier opponent in the super, but there is no guarantee of that.

Who is they? RPI is all that matters. The polls are meaningless.

the committee, and how they seed will be as much about super regional matchups as anything. just need to get somewhere in the top 8.

Ags have a better overall record and the HTH series win.
