Clemson brings in a guy with only 2 prior appearances on the year. Both teams scraping the bottom of their bullpens.

These schools are about 70 miles from each other. It's a rivalry.

No idea why they'd play this game this late in the season.

They showed the stats earlier. The two schools first played baseball against each other in 1900. They've played something like 278 games against each other.

Home plate blue shakes his head and says "no you didn't get hit"... going to review. I don't think it did.

Is UGA using weekend guys? I doubt they'd use their starters more than 15 or so pitches in a glorified bullpen session (ala Lamkin tonight) but what about relievers?

Yessir. Discussed a bit on page 2. Used their Friday guy for an inning-ish or so. Was Friday guy until the end of March but didn't pitch again until getting the start Sunday vs Ole Miss, coming back from some kind of strain... Interesting they went to him for sure. They've used 11 pitchers so definitely some that will see action against us.

Several teams do this. I remember Louisiana Tech doing it several years ago.

UGA has those LED lights that so many want at Kyle at their baseball stadium. That's a no from me, Dawg.

It's older than dirt. I heard it at SWC road games back in the day. The difference at Olsen is that it's done en masse, and it starts on five.

HBP. WP. Tough walkoff sequence but the Dawgs have stormed the field.

That LHB didn't have a chance based on those early swings too. Just totally spiked that one.

250 pitches on the evening for Georgia. Well-done Clemson.

worth noting that Nebraska (25-13) has slid down to RPI #23

3-7 in their last 10 games

only two top 50 games left on their schedule

going to be a 2-seed somewhere

Will probably end up in the CS regional.... like the basketball pairings.

Arkansas has as many connections and is a lot closer.

A consideration that might push the Huskers to College Station is that they were at the Fayetteville Regional fairly recently in '21. But of course, who knows what the committee will do. I think the only sure thing is if sippie gets an invite they're coming to Olsen Field.

My revised College Station regional prediction:

1. TAMU
2. Oregon State
3. Either DBU or Lamar
4. Some team from a one bid league in the northeast

Those are pretty strong 2 and 3 seeds to be sent to a Natty Seed.

Why do you think the Beavers are not going to host?

Oregon State had a rough weekend at Berkeley but they're still in line to host imo.

Could easily end up someplace like Indiana State as well.

Rough week on the road, their best player with an injured hand. Barring an absolute collapse they'll host. And if they don't it's HIGHLY unlikely they get sent to B/CS as a #2.

Isn't the primary geographic consideration bus or no bus? Meaning, once you have to fly, the cost difference between a 1.5 and 3 hr flight are pretty marginal.

The Beavers go from possible national seed to not even hosting? That seems incorrect.

in theory, yes. Once you are over a certain mileage that is considered a bus trip it's supposed to be a free for all.

Next NerdCast I'm going to pay closer attention to the number of teams out west. It's slim pickings out there this year and way down in general, but I don't recall offhand how many teams we're talking.
