Someone needs to question pitch calling. How you let the best hitter in the nation get anything to hit all series is brutal. You circle a name in the series that should not beat you and that is Charlie Condon. Yet he blasted 3 bombs and a big one to prevent a sweep is bad. I don't care how good our coaching staff. That could and should never happen! Somebody have the cojones to ask the question of why!

You should post less.

Come back and sit in your wrongness instead of editing away the shame

RE: Bat flips.

We covered this the other day after the UGa/State fiasco. Bat flips themselves are not auto ejections. The rule says unsportsmanlike conduct INCLUDES (among other things) "- Bat flips near or toward an opponent or umpire." It did not look to me like that happened ("near or toward...").

I think he was probably warned. I also think everyone on here would be pissed if an Aggie was tossed after doing that when he was HBP on the hand.

Flame away.

How was it not near or toward? He was standing immediately next to Appel and blue

I would have liked a sweep that would have extended our home winning streak to 14 games, but I am glad we won the first game of today's doubleheader to win a 6th straight SEC series.

Why say "I know" instead of saying what he is doing?

He's applying Spider Tack or a similar substance to his glove. You see him reach behind the post and at the end, between his legs, you see him put it back.

Is that direct enough for you?

Nothing will be done, so I'm just having fun with it. I guess he hasn't learned that bullfrog sunscreen and shaving cream will do the same, or Sunsscreen and rosin, or shaving cream and rosin, and all are virtually undetectable.

And, if that's what he is doing, and I'm certain it is, it gives him better life on his pitches. Not velocity, but spin rates that make fastballs more lively and offspeed break more.

Seems like the kind of thing that could help you get 6 K's in 2 innings.

You still have to be able to locate, but if you can, it definitely helps. They've yet to come up with a substance that helps command.

And, this won't be popular around here, I'd be shocked that our pitchers aren't using something.

You better use something if you wanna stop our lineup. Georgia was desperate for a salvage there.

that is a good comment about the comparison to 2022

the '24 team has only played 2 rubber games in league play so far (vs. UF and State)

whereas the '22 team played 7 winner-take-all series finales during league play -- much more stressful

and on that note...

in his 3 seasons at A&M, Schloss has won 20 of 27 SEC series

8-2 in 2022
6-4 in 2023
6-1 in 2024 so far

that's pretty special

From the looks of it, we were VERY fortunate this season to avoid Tennessee and Kentucky which both look just as good as we do.
