  • Looks like we're already up against that point in the spring where I don't go outdoors until fall
  • That was early this year!
  • Still need to find somebody to do the grass and stuff though
  • It's too hot and humid for all that and it's about time I outsourced that crap!

Have fun out there!

Not enough sleep. Stayed up too late watching clips from the Chernobyl miniseries and then puppy was woofing and growling about something at 3:30am. No idea what. I looked for scorpions or some other bug in the house near him.

Then looked outside. Nothing.

7am meeting canceled so came into work early to start spreading joy via email.

My oldest(RyDawg) is about to be 10 and I swear he just turned 1 not that long ago. I only have boys so they all think they are Hardy screaming "My town's smaller than your town!".

Was it a tumor or a cyst?

Yes.
Likely a branchial cleft cyst. Present at birth and usually present in childhood. This was a 53-year-old lady. Sometimes it do be that way, though.
Rather an annoying case, in all honesty. Kept wanting to be stuck to the jugular vein. I guess they had 53 years to get cozy with each other, and they took umbrage to my separating them. No explosion at the ketchup factory today, but lots of "puckering" going on by Yours Truly. Plus these extend way up into the neck (not shown here) and go all the way into the base of tongue and tonsil, so you have to traverse a lot of expensive real estate to get them out. I may or may not have done some whining during the case.

If it was easy they would have asked someone else to do it. They trusted you.

Did you use laser or scalpel or both for excision of the tumor?

Incision in the front of the neck and then dig, dig, dig to get it out. Luckily I had an extra scrub tech to "hold hooks" and retract to help get it out.
