My grandfather in Mercedes, Tx had one when I was a kid. Thing was awesome and fun to play with it…until it got older one day, realized that it was a raccoon and tore my grandpa the eff up. Never messed with one again.

From what I understand, raccoons are illegal to possess as pets. This falls under the TPWD umbrella.
Also squirrels, armadillos, bass, and other wildlife.

Why would I want another wild beast stinking up my house? I already have one teenaged son.

It is also illegal to sell live raccoons in Texas. Even if selling to an out of state location.
