I have seen a couple in the wild. I suspect they work. No more goofy than bags of mulch and pool floats strapped to the car.

Let's be honest. It's only a matter of time before somebody figures out a similar type of roof protection with these insurance rates.

Installed Class 4 shingles on our last house which saved a ton of $ on insurance plus at least 1 roof replacement. Sadly our current home doesn't have Class 4.

If you haven't turned on the tv, big hailer working. Storm lake Dallas or so as of 630, headed northeast towards 380 area and celina / prosper.

If you got a vehicle out, highly recommend finding cover for it if you can.

Surprised there wasn't an announcement at the end. They just cut off over where I am.

And I am once again reminded that I have zero overhead cover anywhere where I live. Just might have to invest in one of those blowup shield thingies...

Yea that was awful and it wouldn't stop. I think the worst went just south of us though at 380/Tollway.

Either way the over/under on knocks on my door tomorrow is 4.

I left work around 5:40 in the Alliance are, headed to east Grapevine. Drive thru golfball sized hail along 170 and 114 for a solid 10 mins.

Truck's fine tho.

1.3 inches in Coppell. Thank goodness a loud thunder woke us up, our sump pump was not operating at peak performance and needed to be unclogged last night

I put down some Halts last night to help stop the crab grass. Hopefully the rain didn't wash it away. Got just over 1/4" last night.

1" in prosper. Good soaking. Didn't hear too much when it rolled in.

Aerated my lawn yesterday. It looks to have helped already with absorption.

Woke up to a moderate risk upgrade for north Texas this evening.

Cap starts to go as early as 4pm today. Big hail and wind primary threats but will be a conditional risk of a twister or two.

Really hope we avoid a hail core on this one. That one a few weeks ago (I'm less than 4 miles from where that tornado touched down at UNT Frisco), lit us up.

While we've experienced some light hail over the years, it's been 8 years since we've had a roof totaled. I feel like we're living on borrowed time.

The future radar looks like it's going to really start hitting the northwest portion of DFW around 6-7pm. After it hits Dallas, it looks like it will really start building up.

WFAA here on at the gym and they just showed the cap to hold and this break up by the time it hits dfw.

That said. North and north west should get some good storms.

Guess we will see. Looks to be getting into Palo Pinto now and possibly intensifying

Yeah it's definitely getting started out to the west.
