for me, their biggest error was taking their best show - KT, Danny, and Mike - and putting head to head against the Ticket's best show, The Musers.

Had they put them against the Hardline, I think they'd get a ton more viewers.

Apparently Rhynes no longer lives in a downtown condo.

If The Freak morning and afternoon drivetime shows were on during the midday I would have listened. Borderline foolish to try to compete against Gordo and to a lesser extent The Hardline (say what you want, but I think that show still has many loyal listeners).

But I also realize that may be unrealistic as I'm guessing a lot of corporate radio big wigs only really care about drive time ratings.

Would love to see Sirois take over middays on the ticket. I think he and Monty 12-3 would be great. But as mentioned, I think he unwisely burned that bridge and do not see it happening.

Still think Cat is overbearing and a tool, but maybe that's what it takes. He also has to answer to higher callings

Winters said to his dying day that Sobel, as big of a tool and a-hole as he was, did things right to get Easy Company in the shape it needed to be in

Someone is going to benefit from this. If Cat is smart, he shores up the midday shows, they suck as-is.

Maybe I'm reading too much into this but given the recent interactions between The Freak and DZ, and them having this up so quickly, I'll be very surprised if anyone who was on the ticket makes their way back there in the near future.

I really think they could pull off a Barstool Sports model if they could snag the Musers.

Barstool survives based on nationality. If they were Boston or New York only, they wouldn't have the following. There's just not enough sports and man talk listeners in DFW to support it.

Even Rogan wouldn't survive on a regional model.

If I could build a station from scratch I'd go:

6-9:30 Musers
9:30-12:30 Donny, Cavanaugh, Julie,
12:30-3:30 Bob, Dan, and Jake
3:30-7 Danny, KT, both Sirois brothers with Grubes producing

I would listen to that non-stop and be ok never hearing Corby, Gen X Davy, Sean, Mino, Matt, ever again on the Ticket

Maybe have Rhynes and the Hammer as fill-ins lol

I'd be ok with it, but think that's more from the Dan and Jake side than Bob… he's not afternoon drive in my opinion

I think the Musers and the Dumb Zone could pull off national appeal, but I also think they could survive in DFW only as a subscription based model. I think you could do it with:

The Musers (daily)
The Dumb Zone (daily)
The Rant (3x)
Donny + Sirois (3x)
Sports Sturm + guest (3x)
Sturm "substack" articles (2x)

Dang. Michael Doocy drove the final nail in the coffin of The Freak.

The man is a cold blooded assassin.

Too bad his old man will never be proud of him or get his name right.

Sports talk radio is a relic of the time before social media,Spotify and podcasts.

It's kind of amazing that the Ticket (and The Fan) is still around and thriving, especially with its current lineup.

Ben and skin would be a big improvement over a few of the ticket shows today.
