Hop Henge (the brew that started this thread) is probably the best beer I have had from Deschutes.
Have a bomber cooling in the beer fridge now.

Got the beer blue balls at Whole Foods on Waugh today...got there before noon so all the fridges were covered up and I couldn't see anything, much less buy some.

Anyone know where to find Austin Beerworks/Cuvee's Sputnik?
It's a Russian imperial coffee oatmeal milkstout. Had it once @ Down House in the Heights. Changed my life. Spec's Warehouse doesn't have any more of it. Down House is out.

ATTN homebrewers: I've thought about this a bit, but I'm seriously considering selling my keezer. Reason: I just went overboard, and would like to downsize to a 2 tap kegerator/keezer.
edit.. here is the CL ad
http://houston.craigslist.org/for/2814533345.html
I decided to keep CO2 tank/regulator, as I'll need that for whatever I downsize to.

I don't think their distribution is all that large. I was hoping to find some Austin beerworks at the bastrop specs while i was in town visiting the mother-in-law. They didn't even have any there all of 30 miles away.

Called the Spring Valley Specs today. Said they should be getting the new Shiner IPA tomorrow afternoon.
Edit: Bunker Hill HEB has it. Picked some up this afternoon.

Didn't look over the last few pages of the thread to see if it'd been mentioned lately, but I had one of the Stone Vertical Epic 11.11.11's the other night, and damn that is a fine beverage!
I'm down to my last RRBC sour blonde at the casa, I's now a saaaad panda.

what did you think? the reviews on the Beer thread on the food board said the chile and cinnamon were pretty subtle.
i keep seeing the 11.11.11 around town but am never in the mood to get any.

Yeah the cheeeelays </Aaron Sanchez> and cinnamon are pretty subtle additions. I really dug it though, very tasty pickup IMO. Good malty flavor, Belgian style, but enough unique flavor to make it interesting. It's not incredible but damned solid.

Maybe it's the hophead in me, but I am very comfortable and confident when I say Wild Hare is the best beer Shiner has out right now.
Well done.

Hells yeah! City Acre Brewing, a new Houston brewery, drew my name out of a hat so I’ll be attending their FebBREWary Tasting Event! I’ll be sure to report back.

Get stoked: a brilliant guy I met last year is opening up a microbrewery in the Heights very soon and is getting a lot of positive press:

Another thumbs up for Shiners new WHPA. Not a big PA/IPA fan but this stuff its pretty good. Definitely a nice change in pace from the normal shiner offerings out there now.

any AHA members here?
Went to this last year, it was nice to be able to go and it not be jam packed. There was plenty of seating, and most of the attendees had already seen/heard Brock's tour a dozen times so they had no interest, giving the tour a much more intimate setting. I think there was maybe 20 that followed him along

Trying shiner 103 (wild hare American pale). Not a beer conisseur, but it tastes slot like st Arnold's brews, as far as the crisp floral flavor goes.

Curious, how much did that run? Only been there once, seems I remember it being really expensive.

Picked some Kona Koko Brown this afternoon...first time to see it and its pretty good. If you like brown ales not a bad one to try.
