I'm impressed with Fox and Hound. I've gone there maybe 5-6 times in the last 2 years, and every time I go, it seems they are offering more and more craft brews. Their taps used to be filled with all the europe standards .. Harp, Killians, Guinness, Newcastle, etc..

Went to Willowbrook last night, easily half their taps now are american craft beers (they have about 50 total), and they have blown up their bottle selection.

Plus, $2 pints on tuesday, and wed/thurs/sun has $4 craft brewery of the month pints. This month was Karbach, so I had couple rodeo clown pints for $4 ea.. not a whole lot more than off the shelf.

The bottle selection: (Though I'm not crazy about bottles.. They aren't very economical, and I can get them at home!)

Another TexAgger actually got me a big bottle of that for my bday last week. I thought it was pretty good, but I wouldn't call it best around.

it's on facebook:

"Saturday may 5th @6pm we will once again attempt to beat the fastest firkin drained in tx. The current record 6mins 48secs held by zaxs in Austin. Our last attempt 7min 4secs two years ago. This time the TV show "drinking made easy" will be filming our epic victory. Be part of history as we prove humans can overcome the toughest of life's obstacles, and act like jackasses on nation television."

Anyone on here get any Boxers Revenge from Jester King. Been looking around for it, but the couple of places listed to have it are mostly sold out. Whole Foods is sugarland had some, but sent it back because they couldn't scan it in and HEB bunker had one bottle left that was apparently sold even though the person had not paid for it yet. Anyone seen any around town?

I picked up a bottle last week or the week before from the midtown specs. You have to ask someone for it....they don't have it on the shelves. It was a one bottle limit then. It was tart as hell...I couldn't have polished off the whole bottle if I didn't have help.

Texas Beer Fest was fantastic. Not to be confused by the CF know as "houston beer fest".

I was out there pouring for Circle Brewing out of Austin, they had a pretty badass amber, hefe and blonde for sampling (I might have sampled a lot myself).

TBF was great and I was skeptical going in given other Texas beer event reviews. Well done, plenty good quality beer, good venue, easy affordable parking, reasonable brew prices.

I did VIP mainly to get in early in case the firkins went in a flash. Next time I won't buy VIP, there was plenty of good stuff all day.
