Had a Bootlegger Brown from Independence last night. Thought it was really good. I don't think I've had any of their other beers. Anything else I need to check out?

New brewery in town coming soon, Lone Pint Brewing, in Magnolia. I put some links on the beer thread on food and drink forum, or just google for more info. Apparently hitting bars in August.

Had some Buffalo Bayou Smoke on the Bayou the other night at Boneyard, it was pretty good

Smoke on the Bayou by Buffalo Bayou Brewing
Smoked Beer

With Smoke on the Bayou, we set out to brew a beer that could only ever be brewed in Houston, something that couldn’t be replicated anywhere else on the planet, even in a laboratory. This would be our spin on Octoberfest beers. So we smoked our malt in the smokers at Beaver’s, Goode Company and Rockwell’s Tavern up in Cypress, and we blended those malts as the base for a nine percent strong Scotch Ale

Got to look around Saint Arnold's cask room last night. Pretty cool. Bourbon barrel imperial stout, different barrel-aged Christmas ale, etc.

The whole room smelled incredible.

I had my first buffalo bayou beer last night. I tried the 1836. I really enjoyed it for what it was.

HNIC, is that St A brew that is supposed to be making its way to bars in the near future??

The stout was released randomly earlier this year. Brock said the Christmas ale would be making it's rounds soon. Said they're looking to roll out these barrel/Bishop series brews a little more frequently, but still a lot less than DR's.

Just stopped by the new heb in the old Randall's spot on jones. Pretty good selection there if you don't want to hit up specs or get caught after 9 or on a sun

Also I really hate that the the hipster liberal beer nerds get all the first pickings.

Also favorite beer out right now is Lagunitas Lil Sumthin Sumthin!

Talked to my beer guy at Specs and he said that the downtown Specs an the 290/Jones were the only two that received any Bodacious.
He was pissed...in his words "**** man, there aren't any craft beer drinkers over there in JV...they're all over here in the Memorial Villages."

I grabbed a sixer of Sam Adams yesterday for the first time in over a year.

Hop Tour Package -
2 Noble Pils
2 Latitude 48 IPA
2 White Water IPA (which was by far my favorite)

For a large brewer, they still make some great beer.

I noticed the new HEB @ Jones and West had growlers of Rogue Dead Guy in the beer cooler. How long will a sealed growler like that last?

They also had a full rack of ass rogue voodoo

Growler oughta stay fresh a few days
streetfighter2012

Is that a few days from the initial filling at the brewery, or from when a person first breaks the seal 2200 miles away?
