Kind of surprises me. They always have a steady-decent lunch crowd. The supper crowd must suck.

I posted on the other thread about it. The mom got early stages of dementia and she was the major one of the restaurant. The daughters got power of attorney and booted the brothers out. It's crazy stuff. I worked for them for 7 years and it paid for 2 years at A&M. I met some great people there. Weird to think its closed.

I know one of the sons Gus opened up his own place. Hadn't gone to it but from what I heard its a always busy

Gus is a great guy that introduced me to my boss at El Charro. I know most of his cliental right now is people who stopped going to El Charro because of him leaving.

just texted Gus and he said that he is going to hirer 1 or 2 cooks from El Charro so I know atleast the Chicken Fried Steak is going to be legit!

They already had it on their menu and it was almost as good as the original.

Look's like we're getting a dueling Piano Bar by Swan's on Old Jacksonville.

Chipotle is just so much better. I ate at Freebirds twice to give it a chance. The ingredients are just of a higher quality at chipotle. Freebirds tasted like slop,not sure how else to say it. awful. chipotle mmmm.

Mi cocina has reportedly checked out building inside the bank next to Harleys on old Bullard, (Harleys now owns the building)

its a shame we missed out on hitting the 100,000 pop mark.. A lot of big name places won't even lift an eyelid until that number is within a city's limits..

I'm leaving Tyler tomorrow for good, been here 24 years... Sad day

And YES old Jacksonville is the new hotspot, I know I live on it.... Grande will start seeing alot of the overflow.. The trick is TImeout being located so close on 155. Not exactly an eye pleaser unless you're a roughneck in town on Saturdays for the chicken buffet

and YES Gus' new place is great. And YES I believe Gilbert (other el charro brother) is building where ZaZa's used to be (right next to fresh in shopping center).

Alright so now i can say this with certainty, I can't neither confirm nor deny that Freebirds is INDEED going to be in Casa Ole at Time Square.....
