TexAgs Premium is FREE for all current students

By TexAgs
November 24, 2014

Before A&M faced LSU on Thanksgiving 2014, we promised to make TexAgs Premium free for current students if the Aggies won. Well, after they lost in a heartbreaking fashion, we decided that we weren't going to add insult to injury, and make it free anyway! That means that all current Texas A&M students* have FREE access to TexAgs Premium 🙌

All you have to do is use your TAMU email email address when you sign up for a free account — see how below. Once you've verified your email address*, you'll have access to all of TexAgs' Premium content, our TexAgs Premium forum and the Student Section forum starting ... NOW. Your subscription will be read-only, which just means you can read until your heart's content, but you just won't be able to post on any Premium forum. You'll still be able to post on other forums, of course.

How to Register
1) If you do not have a TexAgs account, click here to register.
2) Once you've registered, click here to verify your student status.
3) CELEBRATE.

*Student status is solely determined by Texas A&M University College Station campus's public information directory. No other means of student status verification is available.

TexAgs Premium is now FREE FOR STUDENTS.

It would be interesting to see what impact this has had on the overall texags experience. The premium used to be a great place to get info/insights/tidbits and the zoo sucked because it is usually about 75% sarcasm and stupid posts (old Ag here - I get it that I don't get you and you don't get me). When I had premium - that dynamic crept in and the boards and it became less valuable to me so I dropped it.
FWIW, the students who sign up for this can only read the Premium forum, not post. Obviously those that subscribe after graduating can post, though. It's just not nearly the same number as those who sign up for the free student access.

When I went back to school it took me over a year to get this to work.
Couldn't get my status with the association to show as active student.
Got two months free under a different username.

Incoming grad student really loving all the content TexAgs has. I've gotten really into the recruiting trail and am struggling to find a lot of the premium info with the account system down. Anyway I can read these premium articles so I can stay up to date with latest news from Jason, Ryan Billy and everyone else?

Sadly,

Being a former student, a dad, and back in school it almost feels like
false advertising to see the heading:

TexAgs Premium is now FREE FOR STUDENTS.

Then there is the fine print elsewhere....

Bait and switch a fellow Ag?

I'm a student with an ID to prove it, but barely making ends meet,
and I would enjoy reading what my fellow Ags
have to say--even if I can't post.

We can hire a $75 Million coach,
build a $500 million stadium,
but, can't help fellow ags
who are also back in school
working on tech certs and
small degrees in the hopes
of updating skills and knowledge
to become employable again
in the future.

At least I'm trying

Hey Spike, sorry for the delayed reply, but we are certainly not trying to bait and switch anyone. If you are a current student at A&M, then there should be no reason you can't access our student subscription. Have you tried to verify your account here? If it's not working for some reason, definitely email staff@texags.com or call us at 979.446.0560 and we will help you out!

That post was made back in 2015, so I just don't think it was ever addressed. I do think it's a good idea to have an active military discount, but we'd just have to figure out how to actually verify it. We'll kick around the idea and see what the possibilities would be.

Hi! I am a former athlete at Texas A&M class of 21'. I am looking for a ride from the Waco area to go to College Station for the game today. Would be able to pay money for gas as well!
My number is 9793933633, let me know if anyone could help me out!

I never knew this as an extension student over the last few years. Maybe there was an email about it, yet not being on campus, I had no idea that I could have joined in for FREE!

Try checking with TAMU Education Alumni Alison West, Founder and Administrator of The Live Oak School in Waco to see if she knows of anyone traveling to Waco to College Station for the games today or on a regular basis?
