Last night was definitely a matchup where we needed Lively in the lineup. The Raptors just have too much length. Still we could have won that with just a better showing at the free throw line.

I don't know… they could score at will in the paint. We had no answer for their size, defensively.

Going to my first game of the year tomorrow.
Anyone else already been? Thoughts on the AAC upgrades this year?

Jumbotron is nice (and huge)! The screen actually shows the box score stats so you don't have to turn your head to the wall screens to see how close to a triple double Luka is (minor thing, but appreciated lol. And the seats are new but feel the same. My buddy and I thought they may be slightly more "upright" to accommodate more legroom, but that may just be false perceptions.
Overall nothing mind blowing but the screen is really nice and the most obvious upgrade.

Great Aggie Photographer Andrew Hancock '02 covered the Rangers WS run and now the Mavs again.

Lively just turned it over from the short roll, ran back on D and swatted Russ in transition, then got a lob from THJ for an alley oop in a span of about 10 seconds. This game is so much fun. Mavs up 31.

Luka is 16-20 from the field

Backups messed around too much and Luka has to come back in with 6 minutes left only up 18, soon to be less than that.

This team still has serious rebounding issues, including Dwight Powell's inability to just collect the ball when there is nobody around him.

It's also extremely annoying that Dwight Powell is a professional athlete who has serious issues just grabbing the ball when he is all alone.
Well the Mavs are getting outrebounded by 7 in a game where we are making 53% of our shots. We have given up 18 offensive boards. That will be a problem all year. I also posted that in a stretch where the lead was cut from 32 to 14.PatAg said:shack009 said:

They just referenced this on the broadcast. Dameris goes off on Harden.

Harden may be the only player that Kyrie doesn't like, so it made the game that much more fun

Mavs playing beautiful basketball right now. Luka and Kyrie pairing has been seamless. The Mavs now have multiple guys who can get you 10+ points on a given night while staying within their role (Lively, Williams, DJJ, Hardy, THJ, Green). They are very hard to guard right now, 2nd in offensive rating barely behind Indiana for 1st.
The Mavs are looking good at the 10 game mark, but it is hard to say how good considering schedule has been a little soft. Next 10 games they have a few challenges Bucks / Kings / Lakers / Clippers(?) / Thunder and Rockets (!). Should be interesting.

I should have bet the farm on NO in this game. The team staying in New Orleans for the past couple of nights…. This was an obvious outcome. I swear Luka always plays terribly if he is left to his devices in New Orleans before a game.

The team looked disinterested. The schedule makers did them no favors with that back to back.

Hopefully the team has recovered from their New Orleans hangovers and can manage to keep Jordan Poole at his terrible 16 points per game on 41% (30% 3pt).
Well it's against a terrible Washington team that will probably end up with the best lottery odds.Grapesoda2525 said:

Lol I think I'd have rather had two back to back in NO. Wouldn't have given Luka a free night in one of the biggest party cities in the country.

It's been really disappointing. This team can go to another level if he can show more improvement. He seems to have regressed this year.zgolfz85 said:

For Hardy, 21% of his FG attempts are wide open threes and he is hitting 42% of those. It's just the other 80 percent of his shots?
Green is just at 32% on his catch and shoot threes.
Gotta think both just need the reps to get into their rhythm.
Green is also a corner 3 specialist, and Grant Williams spends a lot of time in the corner. That may disrupt things a bit for Green.
Sometimes it takes guys a couple months to get into it. Hardy and Green are both disappointing, but Jones and Lively are both far exceeding expectations.shack009 said:It's been really disappointing. As nice as it would be to see poor Sacramento finally get off the mat for the first time since Bibby and Webber, last night looked like last season. We have nobody on our roster that can guard Sabonis Jr?
