Speaking of attendance, this seems like big news!

If they send a crew to Olsen, great, but the games were already available nationally to anyone with an ESPN sub and Internet access.

Monaco mentioned on the Saturday radio broadcast that the ESPN crew will be in person.

I *think* he said Karl Ravech and Kyle Peterson will be on the call, but I could be mistaken.

not sure that is possible with temp bleachers. Remember you cannot block the fire lane.

Hart and Kyle Peterson were talking about going to College Station for the Arkansas series during one of the games against LSU this weekend, Hart saying he already has reservations at The Republic.

Do we know the top weekend total? I wonder if we have a chance to break it versus Arkansas or if it requires a different stadium configuration or ? Either way, Arkansas weekend is going to be insane. I only wish the Troubadour Festival didn't conflict with the game...
With the Saturday game being at 2:00, the hope is folks come over to catch the main stage show after the game. That's the date that was provided to us by the University, so we had to go with it. We're hoping to see a lot of fans join us after!

Well, it was a nice thought/hope.

I think the only push they need is some big donations. The added seats at Olsen will not pay for themselves, unless you figure in the one-time donations that might come from some folks who might be enticed to donate (in part) through the chance to get seats in new premium seating.
This is the correct answer. Schloss gave the example that if he can raise $85 million lets say then we will get x, but if we can only raise $20 mil then we are looking at scaling back certain plans. I don't think he was trying to pinpoint that the magic # was $85 mil, just that we need to hit a substantial target to get what's planned and that raising funds is how we will get there. Attendance helps if that turns into more season tickets, perhaps luxury boxes, etc. but the scope of the project is still in flux.

He stressed that the Aggie Baseball Stadium Survey that should be out soon will be a lot like the one for Kyle Field in which it helped shape the final result because of the money raised in the process.

Looks like a good crowd vs. Rice tonight. Full everywhere except Section 12.

What is the tentative schedule on the main stage? I plan to arrive at noon and eat BBQ until 1:30, head over to Olsen for the game, and be back for music from 5ish until the end! Gonna be a great Saturday!

The Horns have - for now - turned their season around. The David Pierce Farewell Tour has been put on hold.

Thursday - 6,976
Friday - 7,980 (3rd highest this season)

We need 7,924 today to top the weekend record of 22,879 (Clemson regional in 1999). I assume this does not include Aggie Alley for both this weekend and back in '99.

What changes the numbers? Section 12? Student attendance. They already have season tickets sold, any extra reserved (if there were any), and GA is sold out. The only sales today that could change attendance are in Section 12, right?

What else is there to do in Mississippi? Plus it's the only sport they really have a winning history in

Pretty impressive representation from the state of Mississippi in general, a state with only 3M people total. I've spent a lot of time in that state and they really do love baseball and have some great programs.

The state of Texas really needs to step it up. We have 3 metro areas that are more populous than their entire state, and the Austin metro probably passes them in the not too distant future.

#1 CLANGA, enrollment ~20k, Starkville ~25k
#4 Ole Miss, enrollment ~20k, Oxford ~25k
# 10 USM, enrollment ~13k, Hattiesburg ~50k

Pretty much the same things there are to do in the booming metropolis of B-CS. We should be asking how they and Arkansas do it, not making excuses.

Not saying we shouldn't do the same thing. We should be able to get 14K. Just pointing out they have zero pro sports within 250 miles and it's the only sport they are a national player in

24,122 - population of Starkville, MS

87,792 - population of Bryan, TX

124,319 - population of College Station, TX

212,111 - combined B/CS population

The B/CS area is nearly 10 times the population of Starkville, Mississippi. There are infinitely more things to do in the B/CS region than in and around Starkville.

Having more chicken finger joints in BCS doesn't mean that people in other towns don't have options relative to the population. They have golf courses, restaurants, hunting seasons, and TV's too.

And I was serious about looking at how the Mississippi schools and Arkansas were able to build stadiums with those capacities and price tickets at a level that facilitates higher attendance. There's always something to be learned. And as we all know, college baseball did not always have the audience it does now. There had to be some process involved in placing emphasis on the sport.
