So this two-speed ECM motor doesn't have a capacitor. It is brushless DC motor with a controller, which is why it is so much more efficient than the old unit it replaced. The tech quoted me $1200 to replace it with a 10-day lead time. The $1200 is pretty steep, but the less tolerable issue is waiting 10 days for parts to show up.
I order a close enough replacement from Grainger which should be here in half the time.
In the meantime I got barrell fan at Home Depot that fits like a glove and has been doing yoemans service for the last three hours.
