16 oz ribeye

We had that nearly every Sunday for lunch when I was a kid. I'd want that memory as my last meal.

Remember, the prison system is in charge of your steak.
In Texas, you would be served whatever the Walls Unit cafeteria is serving that day. They abolished the traditional "last meal" in 2011. A prisoner ordered a large, expensive meal and then didn't touch it, claiming he "wasn't hungry".

Science is assuming most of you scumbags will be offered their last meal in prison. Which is probably true.

Friends don't let friends eat Bill Millers. Even Taco Bell is superior.
I was wondering if everyone was going to let him get away with that.

I don't know if they still do it at the Aggieland WNM, but my favorite back in the day was the wings (extra hot, extra wet garlic) and ribs combo for 2 with fries (doused in vinegar) and beans, pitcher of beer. Pro tip, always choose one of the girls as your partner so your split is about 75% of the combo.

Now, if I could transport back to 1992 or so and relive those days, I might choose that as my last meal and be content.

That looks almost identical to what I would order at The Country Inn in Somerville (if I didn't hammer a 3 pound T-Bone), except switch out ranch for thousand island. Only thing missing is Texas Toast.

Will the prison cooks care if the ribeye is medium rare? lol
The only institutional ribeye steak I've eaten was past well done.

That was while visiting someone at an assisted living center.

I understand that they used to try to go along with the wishes of the condemned in Texas, but some twit ordered a huge amount of food and didn't touch any of it. In response, they changed to whatever the prison is serving that day.

I work at a mental health hospital.

It all depends who is working in the kitchen and how many craps they give.

Stuffed sopapillas. Beef and beans inside crispy tender sopapillas, covered in cheese in a lake of green chile gravy. Michael's Kitchen in Taos is what I'd like to channel but it's been almost 20 years since I've been.

Just saw this and thought I need to look up Tom Hanks... U know he is going to order the *****iest meal... did not disappoint. Of course, he is so entitled he could not do a last meal, had to do a whole day (maybe that is the thing with that site... IDK, haven't looked yet). TBH, a little disappointed he did not use "farm to table," "sustainable,' or some variant of tofu.

Quote:

As Hanks described, he'd order challah bread French toast with Cary's sugar-free syrup for breakfast, followed by an In-N-Out Double-Double with a Diet Coke and a Greek salad with avocado for lunch, calamari and a side of pita with taramasalata for a snack, and the Taste of History platter from El Cholo restaurant with a Diet Dr. Pepper for dinner. Hanks added, he'd end it all with a white chocolate coconut bunt cake.

Little harsh on Hanks, there. He went with a burger and skipped the fries (which is a good call at In-N-Out), subbed calamari. And this sounds pretty good:

A Taste Of History (1996)

Cheese Enchilada, Rolled Beef Taco, Chile Relleno And Pork Tamale, Spanish Rice and Refried Beans

And that El Cholo restaurant looks like a place that I would definitely drag my family to on a trip.
