I think they're trying a new-ish thing every second(?) Sunday out on that green that brings local vendors and things like that. But I agree, they could stand to get the word out a little better.

My wife and I love going on a "date night" to Uncorked and taking my 3yr old along to play in the green area in the back. The staff is always super nice/accommodating with us!
I also know that the spread between costs to go to a restaurant vs making the food at home is the highest it's been in YEARS and the value proposition is not there anymore...
I grew up working in restaurants and always tip 20% minimum cause I know the job can be thankless, but I have to admit that I have been tipping 10% a lot more lately because the service has just not been good.
We definitely stay to our regular spots, usually blue baker, RX, Costa Vida a lot but have pulled back cause I find it tough to rationalize spending $40+ for a basic meal for 2.5 people.... We'd rather go blow $100 at La Petit Conchon every couple of weeks.
Also - prices for margaritas is really saddening lately. I love mexican food but have pulled us back from going because it's tough to get on board with the prices and I just can't make them as good at home

Keep hearing businesses need to get the word out "more" or "better."
With the amount of information being thrown in your face every second these days that's a very tough thing to do. And if you do someone run across their ad or post it's likely you won't remember it in 2 days.
Location location location is more important now than ever.

You must hit 2/3 of those at minimum, home run if you can hit 3/3.
But there's also other factors…. Are you on the side of the road going to work or home from work? Ingresses and egresses? What are traffic patterns like? Got lots to think about.

10,000%. This has hurt businesses a lot more than can meet the eye.
We need to pour one out for them in solace.

We've been and do appreciate it's family friendly Hoping the new location is even better! We like Polite Coffee and Blackwater as well. In fact most of the places we love are all in Bryan, just hope in 2024 we can see some more places down the road in south college station! Definitely willing to give uncorked and Marfa another try. Been to those several times just never thought of them as places we wanted to bring kids.

I know I have ragged on the11,12,13,14 banks we have in this section of BCS - but I have been with them since I opened my first checking account. So this will make my life ALOT easier and keeps me from going to the big blue bank on the turn in by HEB.
Is this really a true statement? Are they really expanding down there?AggiePhil said:

The new Drew's on 21 is open.
7Brew opens January 15 at Villa Maria and Texas (across VM from Starbucks). I believe they have plans to open additional locations in BCS. If I remember correctly they submitted site plans for a location on Fitch close to Zaxbys.
