✍️ Dick extension.
— Raith Rovers Football Club (@RaithRovers) May 16, 2023
We’re delighted to announce Liam Dick has renewed his contract for another year, keeping him at the club until June 2024.
Liam’s strong defending and versatility has been vital in his 80 appearances for the club, scoring four goals.#YouBelong pic.twitter.com/Mo0lX8VfCf

Misses the rest of this season and first half of next season. Not eligible until after January 16th.

Given the number of infractions I am surprised it wasn't longer honestly. I could have seen a lifetime ban being a potential penalty.

Nice to hang onto a Dick your comfortable with.

232 infractions? Damn that's a ton…do we know if he was betting on his own games or just soccer games in general?

He was one of the players Southgate told Ballogun he was behind on England's depth chart. Oops.

They haven't said. It was originally 232 infractions and they tacked on 30 more. He pled guilty to the original 232 and they dropped the other 30. I have to think if any were on soccer he would have gotten a banhammer.gougler08 said:Aston94 said:

That's what I'm thinking too…and honestly if it wasn't on soccer I don't really think it's a big deal?

The concern is that the soccer player bets on horse racing, loses his ass, can't cover his bets, and is told that to cover his bets he needs to throw a soccer game or two.
That is the concern and why they cannot gamble at all.

FA Rule E8 only covers football-related betting so presumably, they are related to footballAston94 said:gougler08 said:

Part of the issue is that his guilty plea was supposed to be sealed yet it was immediately leaked. I think this is less than they probably wanted if not for that colossal cock up.

Okay, thanks, good to know. So insert "League 2 Soccer" for "horse racing" and it is the same concern.TXAggie2011 said:FA Rule E8 only covers football-related betting so presumably, they are related to footballAston94 said:gougler08 said:

Not at all related to the EPL but I have no other place to put this and I don't think it warrants a new thread…

Their match results remind me of bad Liverpool. Lose to Forest, embarrass Wolves, beat United, get housed by Everton, destroy Arsenal…

That Aston Villa/Brighton game on the final day could be for a Europa League spot.
Brighton have deservedly received a lot of plaudits but…anyone else think that if they don't finish top 6 at this point, it has to be considered a failure?

Failure is perhaps too strong but I do think, right or wrong, expectations were reset mid season at least by pundits and the general soccer universe if not Brighton fans. They've had a tough schedule to be sure but getting pasted in 3 games to close the season (two of which were against Forest and Everton) is not a good look
It's not the same as United because United are United and Brighton are Brighton but it's a little similar. If you told people in September that United would finish 5th they would've said "not bad". Now though it's a catastrophe. I mean I've literally seen "pundits" claim that ETH is no better than Ole and that he's in the hot seat to start next season if they finish 5th.
But I digress…
