I find it very conflicting watching & listening to Gary Neville **** all over United and the players. I'm not sure if I relish in the schaudenfreude or respect his pride and expectations for his club.

Whichever it is, I'm glad that Carra's next to him kicking in the balls the whole time.

Gary Neville is probably the worst pundit in soccer media so there's that. Jamie is way better

More deep analysis stuff from the Athletic… posting here instead of the WC thread where the other stuff was posted since the topic of analysis is now clearly focused on English clubs. Wish they'd do this for European competitions.
Adding a few random thoughts:
1) Everton was bad and probably was lucky to escape relegation. I'm not gonna do a deep dive, but at first glance it looks like their circle is 3rd worst (bottom two are way easy to spot).
2) Wolves and Leicester also seemed to bat higher than these metrics would show they should.
3) Brighton would be really good if they could just finish. Glaringly bad there but good to great elsewhere.
4) It is striking how good City and LFC are on these metrics, with City being slightly better at everything, but noticeably worse at finishing. Scary that they have a proper 9 now.
The playstyle wheel is a bar chart of 15 stats that tell us something about how a team plays, including pressing, defending and finishing.

So does Ten Hag make it to the end of August or do they play carousel again. They need to just decide to suck for a couple years and rebuild

Look, you don't just waltz into the *checks notes* Gtech Community Stadium on a sunny Saturday and come out without taking 4-7 lumps, OK?

Has anyone checked in on Aston?
If you say you hate the state of politics in this nation and you don't get involved in it, you obviously don't hate the state of politics in this nation.

I respect it. If Liverpool were this abysmal, I would hope that Carra, Nicol, and every other former player ripped them a new one.
I almost feel bad. Almost.

And the thing about it is that Pool *have* been this miserable and likely will at some point again. Watch long enough and you get to be the cat and the canary.

Arsenal are hopefully just started to really get over our bad stint

Without a doubt we've had bad years but damn this United team looks like they're future is a bottom half finish. I'm sure they'll get it together but this is hard to watch.

I just don't think it is ever going to happen at Chelsea with Tuechel. He favors Pulisic as a super sub, and with Sterling there now I don't see it changing.

We need Pulisic to get playing time or move to get prepped for the World Cup

Helped again, should have been a foul for dragging the guy down by his hair the first corner
12:28p, 8/14/22
Who else could get away with that hair pull without a booking? Spuds, dirtiest club in the league and always helped by officials. ****s.

If you watch Spuds much you'll notice they get away with A LOT. Granit can knick someone's heel and get sent off but any number of Spuds players can get away with murder in the build up to a goal and it goes "unnoticed".
