Ooooof. Hold that "good for both sides" thought.

This makes sense given that we haven't heard anything from the club about this saga.

Normally a club will put out a statement saying "Player X is still under contract and we have not had official discussion about his departure" or something similar. In fact, the club should be pitching a huge fit over Hendo publicly trying to leave after such a short time.

Instead, they seem quite happy to let him go. I originally thought it was due to his poor performance, but I think the truth may be that they didn't end up paying him a single dime. If they can recoup a chunk of his rather small transfer fee, they will actually be out of his contract with minimal damage.

The Saudi league has a history of not paying its players. I'm guess the lack of actual pay is the unstated issue driving this.

They absolutely have a history of not paying players which makes him deciding to defer his contract unconscionable. I guess he reckoned the positive of decreasing his tax liability was worth risking that he'd never see a single cent? Crazy to me.

Players generally do what their agent/lawyer/accountants tell them to do. I'm guessing the Jordan Henderson camp isn't a very happy one right now.

Mo left Egypt's AfCoN game today with a muscle injury.

I knew this would happen. I don't understand why AFCON continues to screw over their players' club careers with this ridiculous middle-of-the-season tournament. I get that it's hot in the summer, player's safety, etc. South Africa should just host it every time since it is the coolest during the summer months. Also, it's every two years which is BS.

Yep, ridiculous. He left the first half clutching his hamstring. Will see what prognosis is, but that's never a short term outcome

Was there a chant about a sh*t Andy Carroll?

Alexis was so freaking good in that game. Absolutely dominant in the middle of the park.

Yep. And it continued after Darwin scored twice.

I am so thrilled to have Jota back. He and Nunez really compliment each other well.

Coming from Bourne mouth fans I presume? I just noticed it at the end so I was confused by the context.

Yeah, as best as I can figure it was the Bmouth fans.

I saw that Mo is apparently coming back to the UK to rehab with the team. Might return to AFCoN if he gets cleared in time.

Mo out for at least a month.

That's what BBC are reporting as well following today's press conference

Mohamed Salah injury: Liverpool and Egypt forward has 'proper tear in hamstring'

Upcoming Fixtures:
1/24 EFL Cup SF2 @ Fulham
1/28 FA Cup 4thR v Norwich
1/31 PL v Chelsea
2/4 PL @ Arsenal
2/10 PL v Burnley
2/17 PL @ Brentford
2/24 PL v Luton Town

EFL Cup Final is 2/25 if we take care of Fulham. So based on what Ljinders and his agent have been saying, I think best case scenario, Salah returns for the EFL Cup Final / PL v Luton Town. We'll miss him for the Chelsea (obligatory 0-0 draw) and Arsenal matches. But we should be able to take care of the rest of the schedule with Jota firing on all cylinders. I think he is our most clinical finisher after Mo.
