More notes from Sunday:

- Coaching is much more interactive compared to what Silas "brought" to the table (good)
- Players seem to have a clearer line of comms and role identity before believe it or not (good)
- Dillon Brooks is not good (bad)
- FVV was vocal and should be a good vet (good)
- Sengun is still our best PG just based on eye test, skill, and feel (good, but also bad)
- Amen is rock solid, you can already see it (good)
- Jalen is...Jalen; skill is there 2 plus years in, but sometimes WTF are you doing...(open)
- Jabari is getting there but lost on the floor every few possessions (open)
- Boban is the most liked player of all-time (good, I guess)
- Jeff Green looked great on the floor shockingly (good)
- In-game adjustments do not register; only registers with a break in play (wondering if that was just the artificial noise, TBD)
- Defense (bad)
- Front court presence (bad)
- A non-showy goon is still absent; Brooks is trash. Need a Udonis-type bruiser in the middle ready to foul out in two quarters and we don't have it (bad)

Never really liked the brooks signing, he talks more trash than anyone and rarely backs it up. Never has shot the 3 well right? Seems like we paid 20 mill per year for a defensive specialist

Brooks numbers on defense and shooting are great so far this year. But he's an absolute headache to have.

Brooks may not win the eye test, but he has actually been our best player so far. Either him or Sengun.

Offensive output was so balanced across the starting lineup.

Jalen - 23
FVV - 22
Brooks - 20
Sengun - 19
Jabari- 17

Amen probably going to be sidelined for a while. Initial reports are a grade 2 ankle sprain.

This looks ugly...

How are the Rockets going to replace his 4 points per game?

It will have to be a platoon situation. You can't replace that kind of production with just one guy.

Why would he be a headache to the Spurs?

He's no dirtier than John Stockton was and talks no more isht than Jordan. If he was better offensively no one would care about his antics. He just needs to continue to improve shot selection and back up his talk with his play. We're not trying to win a popularity contest and I'd rather have a guy like him that plays hard than a soft lazy talented POS like Harden.

I like Thompson. He needs work, but he's going to be good. I'd definitely rather have him playing limited minutes off the bench and developing good habits than starting and averaging 15 sloppy PPG playing streetball. We have already seen that film too many times lately and know how it ends.

Other than your transcendent superstar types, I think it's good for players to be eased in to the rotation. Case in point, last night his brother had 16/7/5…but on 5/17 shooting…and he's averaging 11/9/4 but on 36% shooting (6% from 3…yes that's SIX percent). PT is good, but the children leading children environment hurts players more in the long run than the benefit of the minutes. Not too many teams can provide the Wiggins on the Warriors minutes and positive leadership situation.

Totally agree that I'd rather a guy that plays hard than Harden.

It's not 1990s basketball and Brooks isn't going to get the benefits or the calls that Jordan and Stockton earned. There's a reason that Memphis let him walk without even negotiating to keep him and traded two firsts and a quality backup to replace him with an older player and it isn't because they made a huge upgrade.

Another W. Good balanced effort. Brooks was money down the stretch.

Brooks got scapegoated. They got embarrassed and needed someone to blame. How are they doing without him? 0-6.

There's also a reason the Rockets were willing to pay him.

Was Silas just a really bad coach? I get that Udoka has more to work with in FVV and Brooks but still

If the playoffs started today, the Rockets would be the 8th seed!

I think this is the first time since the end of the 2019 NFL season that the Rockets and Texans have both been at .500 or above at the same time.

Encouraged by the start but man the rest of November schedule is brutal all West teams and most of them are against what is considered to be the top tier of the West.
