Runner on 3rd scoring I think would have been excusable (for Heim). Ump blew it either way, but you can't let a runner take two bases.

Got some bonehead stuff outta the way and still got the W.

Certainly, but damn. How is that stupid s*** not reviewable? Heim had a bonehead moment, but that was as missed as it gets.

For whatever reason it always takes 4-5 years of stupid rules impacting games for anything to actually get changed. At the very least the rule should be adjusted that it's reviewable if after the 7th inning or a scoring play.

Pitcher should've been standing on the plate for when / if the catcher finds the ball. But
looks like blue screwed up.

Well that was an exciting opening day!! Proud of the fight and seriously, who had a game tying HR from Jankowski on their bingo card? Especially after the "non" foul tip that Heim had to deal with! In basketball, we say ball don't lie when their's a terrible call from the ref and they miss the free throw following the terrible call. That's how the answer from Jankowski felt and you could see in the dugout how bad Heim felt! What a poetic ending to the night we hang the 2023 World Series Champions banner!

In all seriousness, what likely happens to the ump once the league reviews? Obviously almost took the game from us

They're too busy passing rules to make obvious caught stealings into safe calls. They don't have time to think about what should and shouldn't be reviewable.

The D Backs have 14 runs in the 3rd inning and are still batting…

They're playing the Rockies, a glorified AA team.

Glad Heim got his redemption. How about Jank with the rare HR in the 9th? Dude is just clutch.

No. That F up in right in the World Series sealed his fate with the Rangers.

Sad that he's remembered for that. We wouldn't have been there without him.

Are we no longer playing Pat Green after wins?

I must have missed this segment on the live broadcast. We are interviewing players on the field during play? Thats crazy

I agree but that's my only explanation for him not retiring a Ranger.

It's fun, and probably helps in a long regular season to engage viewers

Awesome game. Great start to the season. But holy hell, this drives me crazy more than it probably should. Pristine weather and opening day. There was no excuse for the roof to be closed.

Rain/severe weather and anything over 95 should be the only reason right?
Maybe 90+?

Works for me.

And while you're at it, put some real grass in there. Oh wait, that might make it inconvenient for a freakin' Billy Joel concert. Never mind.

Ok, I feel better now.

High enough humidity and cold enough to lower dew point and create moisture on things. They basically only want the roof open if conditions are pristine.

It also got pretty chilly.

I caught the foul ball from Seager's first inning at bat … didn't spill my peanuts either
