Yuta, Metu, Eubanks, KBD…. not heavily improving their depth problem imo. Did they have tax payer MLE or Full?

Taxpayer at most. Staying under the super apron will be hard though

Anxiously awaiting people to crap on Houston for paying more for FVV than we did for Kyrie…

It's nasty.

28th in FG% and 30th in 3pt % and they give the max to a guy that plays the same position as their 4th pick and shot 39%/34% last year.

Rumor is the Clips may be considering trades for Zubac. He would make a nice fit for the Mavs until Lively is ready to start.

Wonder if this is part of a move for them to be able to acquire Harden.

Bringing back Seth Curry

He makes no sense on this team, but ok haha.

They must think they are getting a defensive wing somewhere and THJ won't be on this team.

I don't know about that. Doesn't add much on the defensive side for sure but we could definitely use another outside shooter.

Not a bad move.

Gotta offset the massive loss of David Bertans shooting

Houston desperate for that play-in spot next year and willing to spend big, apparently.

I voted yes. It's 59% yes. Must be mostly opposing fans.

Love Seth. Not much better options for the BAE. Makes a THJ move more palatable too.

MLE still fully intact.

Welcome back Seth!

That now makes it 3 Duke guys on the team.

Yuta took a 1y minimum contract. I wonder if teams offered him more, or he just wanted to ring chase and prove his worth to get a 4y deal next year.

Wanted to be with his buddy KD

Yuta is already 28. So he is going to get a 4 year deal as a 29 year old rotation guy? Bruce Brown is 26 and only got 2 years. He and KD are friends, so that's why he's going there, and Phoenix has to go year-by-year for salary haha.

Brown only got 2y because Indy had to WAY overpay to get him. Jevon Carter just got a 3y deal as a bench/role guy at 28. But overwhelmingly, most of the sub-MLE guys are getting like 1y with PO.

Lakers re-sign DLo to 2 years $37 million. They have re-signed everyone and added Vincent.

I don't understand how they can keep Reaves, but I'm sure they will...

They already paid him

1:43p, 7/1/23

I don't think anything is official on that front. They offered 4/$52mil, but any team can offer him up to like 4/$99mil, then Lakers can match that offer. It has been reported Lakers will match any offer he gets.
Guitarsoup
1:55p, 7/1/23
Reaves could also make them give him a 1y contact and be a UFA next year
shack009
2:05p, 7/1/23

He's already 25. He should capitalize on that good season and turn it in to a long term deal with a lot of money.

I'm sure he'd be fine if he bet on himself to have another good year, but his stock may be at an all time high. Strike while the iron is hot.

Wow. Can't believe there wasn't someone out there who offered more. Lakers will be pretty salty, even when not completely healthy.

How is this not a really good deal for a really good player? What am missing? Should they have wasted the money on another 7 foot stiff?
94chem,
That, sir, was the greatest post in the history of TexAgs. I salute you. -- Dough

It's the context of the current team that he is a redundancy and a defensive liability when this team needs defense.

But I think it does signal that THJ will not be on this team to start the year and that another deal is on the way. So right now it doesn't seem smart, but I think it will make sense when the roster makeover is complete.
Guitarsoup
2:34p, 7/1/23
Not a lot of guys signing in that salary bracket
Guitarsoup

I guess Seth Curry was the big free agent signing
