I only caught the beginning, but it sounded like before approaching Tiger Notah put together a ton of different stats that helped Tiger see the light.

Looking at Tiger's swing in the very limited amount we've seen it so far, it looks much smoother and much less stressful. Definitely see the correlation to going back to how he swung as a kid. I'm a Tiger hater, but kind of rooting for him to at least make things interesting.

A lot of instructors have players do this to get a "feeling" for what they want, which is usually not even close to reality.

Tiger's major fault is getting "stuck" on the downswing. This happens when he drops his back shoulder and blocks it high right or flips it through the ball and smothers it left. The rehearsal "cut across" from out to in is to get him to keep his right arm in front of him vs, behind his body on the downswing. It actually works for those of us with that swing fault.

I have a terrible inside drop at the top of my swing, so my instructor once told me to take swings and try to hit myself in the front leg with the club after impact. I have the result on video and it was a perfectly on-plane swing, yet it felt to me like a 30-handicap over the top chop job.

Yes I understand the rehearsal meaning, just in the end I thought that it was an accurate summary of Tiger's Foley swing. Inefficient and unreliable. The pre-shot moved seemed to be a band aid to a flaw in the body/swing relationship. More double crosses off the tee than is at all an okay amount.

Just watched a side by side vid of his driver swings now versus earlier this year. They are not as noticeably different. Flatter, bigger turn this week than earlier this year with the driver.

Tiger bogeyed 1 and 2, then 3 straight pars, including a par 5. One fairway hit, one green hit, 7 putts. +2.
